Depends on the ammo used, I guess and your assessment of how dirty it is. When I shoot Wolf, I cut my ammo count in half. That stuff is way dirty, though not corrosive. I’ve I’m shooting reloads then I use my standard count. I don’t know of any US made 7.62×39.

Thanks, I’ll try your method out. Would the rule for rounds fired still apply for the AK?

hehe, yeah, I think women in general don’t like the smell of solvents. Though mine doesn’t mind Hoppe’s. Instead she doesn’t care much for the smell of the Simple Green. LOL But once she saw how well it cleaned the kitchen when we moved, well, then she loved the stuff.

no wood furniture on my polish tantal just the tapco buttstock and handguards , thanks man I’ll let you know the results

Simple Green won’t effect the finish of the metal at all, other than to get it clean. I believe it will take the cosmo off with a little soak time. If you have wood furniture you may want to just use a rag with some Simple Green on it and wipe at it. Soaking the wood furniture could cause issues with it’s finish. Simple Green is definitely more cost effective than solvents and it’s environmentally friendly. Get a spray bottle and try it. Let me know how it works.

hey man I just got my first AK variant from atlantic firearms yesterday , when I picked it up from my local gun shop ,it was covered in what I believe is cosmoline , is simple green the best and cheapest option to go ? also wanted to know if simple green in anyway will affect the parkerized finish ?
